Tom Herian, alias Drama Jacqua comes from a family of musicians. He was born in Teplice, Czech Republic on August 7, 1980, where he also graduated musical conservatory specializing in drums and percussions. He has been beating the drum set from early childhood, currently playing in several musical projects (Segundo, Feng Jung Song’&’Trio PUO, WNP, Skete Fotr, Soil, Ritchie success, Montage, Drama Jacqua, Sato-San To). Presently, he lives and makes music in Prague.
It may be said that Jacqua’s drumming specialty are grooves of broken fast-paced beats, often described as Jungle or D´n´B. He is inspired by players who are deeply rooted in today rather broad and undefined style of jazz music.
Furthermore, Tom Herian has been extensively into working with sound and composition of electronic music. He has experimented in this field since the end of 90s of the last century. Herian’s solo project of experimental electronic music Drama Jacqua is turning out to be the theme of the day.
Nowadays, in the centre of all Jacqua´s interests is electro-jazz-pop band called Soil. Soil is nothing new on the Prague´s jazz scene. New album would have been released in spring.
